On Mar 12th, 2019, Fox 26 interviewed Dr. Beth Dennard, owner and director of Bright Futures Consulting (BFC). Her goal during the interview was to represent the thousands of ethical educational professionals in light of the recent Justice Department’s investigation and subsequent allegations of cheating, bribes, and other crimes by college officials and high-powered and wealthy clients, as well as unethical educational consultants.
The first step in finding an ethical educational consultant is knowing what to look for. Dr. Dennard and her team at Bright Futures, in business since 1999, are experienced and credentialed. They have helped thousands of students and proud parents successfully navigate the college process.
BFC is determined to educate families and those she mentors professionally to uphold the highest ethical and professional standards. She encourages parents who seek to work with an educational consultant to look for integrity and professional credentials. These credentials may include but are not limited to the following:
- The Certified Educational Planner (CEP) credential, the highest credential awarded in this profession
- Membership in good standing in the following organizations: Higher Education Consultants Association, National Association for College Admission Counseling, Independent Educational Consultants Association
- Certification as an Educational Consultant with a certificate from an accredited university
Bright Futures Consulting (BFC) is known for integrity and our team members belong to all of the above organizations. Additionally, Dr. Dennard, the director, has her Doctorate in Education (EdD) from the University of Houston and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). BFC offers complimentary consultations for families that believe they would benefit from working with an educational consultant to mentor their student through the arduous and competitive college admissions process.
